The professional courses in barbering requires a satisfactory completion of 1,000 training hours. This will entitle you to take the examination for the Ohio Barber License.
The barber curriculum according to the Ohio State Cosmetology and Barber Board is as follows:
One Thousand (1,000) hours of training are required of applicants for a certificate of registration as a
Master Barber with at least one (1) hour of theory class per day.

This program instructs the student in the following: curriculum development, lesson planning, teaching methods, classroom management teacher-student relationships, and testing evaluation.
The Board only requires you to complete 1800 hours of training before you can apply for a license. However, after you attain a license, you may always return to school for advanced training.
